this book is great its amazing i recommend this book to any one because SOPHIE MCKENZIE is a Natural born writer and dissevers rights to win the book award her books are amazing
i am a big fan of her books and always will be!!!!
I don’t have any unanswered questions. The book was un-putdownable, I really enjoyed the story I could read it again. The characters that were in the book as time went on I got to know them really well. They were very life-like and would speak the way I woulde expect them to for their age and background. The language and writing style weren’t difficult, but neither was it easy. The auther’s use of words is good for the settings, atmospheres, characters, action etc. I loved all of the characters in the story and I even cryed in some parts. In my opinion, you would have to be ok about the fact that there are some swear words in it for you to be able to read the book.
Theo has decided to find his father who has gone into hiding. He meets up with a very shy girl called Rachel and together they experience a fantastic adventure. Along the way there are many secrets to uncover and their true identities must be hidden.
I expected this book to be really scary but “Exciting” would be a better word to describe it. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me spell-bound! Whenever I had to put it down I became very impatient to get back to it. Sophie MacKenzie really brought the characters to life for me. From the very beginning when Theo and Rachel first met I could picture them and their situations really clearly and was drawn in to their adventure.
I would recommend this book to both young and old, it is truly amazing!
this book is amazing, mind blowing! it is the best of the best! you can’t get any better. it’s got romance, it’s got comedy, its got action, it has everything you need in a book!
A great book.
Theo is fed up of the lies his mum has been telling him about his dad.
Rachel is stuck in a life of bullying and comparison to her dead sister Rebbeca.
Something is connecting their very different life styles and their determined to find out what. This book is full of action adventure and emotion. I would rate it 8/10.
This book is very attaching and once you started reading it you deffinetely cannot stop. This book is full of emotion and adventures and dangers as vell as romance between Theo and Rachel the 15 year olds when they find out what they are and that they both understand them selves. 9/10
If you are looking for an exciting book, packed full of emotion and adventure, this is certainly the book for you. After the first few pages I was already attached to the characters, hungry to know more about the things they said and did. This book shows the story from two entirely different points of view. Rachel is a 15 year old girl who is bullied at school and her parents are always comparing her to her older sister who died when Rachel was born. Theo is the same age and is desperate to know all about his father. Forced together by circumstance, this is the story of how two entirely different children come together to unravel the dark secrets of their past. I would rate this book nine out of ten and recommend it to children between the ages of 11and 14. This is the best book I have read in a long time and I think that it contains winning material.

first impression: runaways, murder, relationships. unusual image, dark and sinister.
after reading: i still have unanswered questions as i wished the ending would have been more explanatory. the plot taught me about genetic engineering; how it’s so beneficial as well as dangerous. i was really excited, i found this book very captivating. i understood the main characters Theo and Rachel very well, they were well believable, i enjoyed their points of view but the one that was the best for me was Lewis, the way his life was portrayed was really interesting and i really liked it. they speak in a conversational tone but when the science-fiction bits came in it was a bit difficult and when Elijah who i didn’t like was speaking it sounded like he was from a different planet. it was well structured. everything was clear apart from all the sci-fi bits which were a bit confusing. the factual information is well researched into and very accurate. the use of words is well balanced and i understand most of it. it was well fun to read the book. i loved this book as i saID its really captivating and involves the reader a lot.the story is aimed at higher age group. i don’t think most people will enjoy this book as it is science-fiction and people are generally not into this genre.brilliant, a great story. the way the multiple narrators are handled is great. the 2 characters theo and rachel are so different but so similar in the way they are linked. i think i found rachel more interesting and i was able to relate to her a bit more than theo but theo in himself is a well thought out character. a bit slow, really really fascinating the ending is a bit sadbut i still want to know whats going to happen next and i think there should be a sequel to this book and sophie mckenzie is a genius,it’s a great book and i had fun reading it and i wish it was longer!
Sophie Mckenzie, a person or a dictionary? She just keeps on churning out masterpieces. This book just gets thicker and thicker and then all comes clear right at the end. When you first meet elijah you think that he is all nice and you support his work but in the end i wanted rage to leave dan, theo and rachel alone but blow up the factory labs. i think it is excelentelly written and my confidence for Mckenzie to win again soared by 75%. 9/10
