This book was very moving and has a very original back story and mystery to be solved. This book was amazing and Ms McKenzie deserves to win again. Theo and Rachel are very realistic characters that you could meet almost every day. I re-read it three times within a week - it was that good! I REALLY hope there's a sequel.

Blood ties is an amazing story about Theo who finds out that his father who everyone said had died, is alive and is determined to find him. And the more he looks into it the more danger he gets in.His clues lead him to shy and lonely Racheal and once they descover their true identities their lives are changed for ever. This story is an Mysterious and mind blowing book that you would not want to put down.

I have read the Book Blood ties which is probably one of the best adventure books I have read so far.
I think Sophie McKenzie is a great teenage author and I might be interested in reading one of her books again, when I first began to read Blood Ties I thought it was going to be one of those typical love stories but as I read more tension started to build up and the secrets began to unravel.
I was very shocked at what happened at the end of Blood ties but I think Sophie's use of description was excellent.

This book is amazing because it keeps you reading.
I like the bit when I found out Max was a girl.
I was laughing and shocked at the same time.

Blood Ties is about a boy who thinks his father is dead but finds out his father is alive and was meant to be dead in a firebomb attack by RAGE; a group against genetic maniuplation. The rest of the story is a tale of betrayel and love.

I think the book was a very adventurous book. It was the sort of book I couldnt stop reading because it was really interesting. The main people in the book were Theo and a girl called Rachel. They both have very interesting lives from when they were born. There is a hidden secret that has been kept away from them for a long time but it's been revealed in front of there eyes and left them both gobsmacked. I would rate this book 10/10!
