  1. The Carbon Diaries 2015.AWESOME BOOK! ’s 2015, and the UK is the first nation to introduce carbon dioxide rationing, in a drastic bid to combat climate change. As her family spirals out of control, Laura Brown chronicles the first year of rationing with scathing abandon. Will her mother become one with her inner wolf? Will her sister give up her weekends in Ibiza?
In these dark days, Laura deals with the issues that really matter: love, floods and pigs. The Carbon Diaries: 2015 is one girl’s drastic bid to stay sane in a world unravelling at the seams. Makes me wonder what will happen to us in 5 years time. The author described everyones feelings which made me understand the book more. Laura’s life changes when the UK starts a rationing system. It felt as I was in the scenes. It was realistic. Definitely an exciting book! The blurb wants you to know more about this book. 8/10

well to start with….By 2015, global warming is a reality no one can ignore. And unfortunately for 16-year-old Londoner Laura the UK becomes the first country to suffer from carbon rationing. For Laura this means cutting down on her band practice and taking the bus to school.
Carbon dairies 2015 is a striking book. What’s so striking and successful about the Carbon Diaries 2015 is the way the big problems are connected to the little problems. The book is Laced with humour and written with a lightness of touch it is page-turning stuff but with a serious message.
One of the most intriguing things about carbon dairies is that some of the situations in the book are so close to reality. For example when there is snow and there is no grit to put on the road disaster strikes and people get stuck just like the current year when our county was running out of grit to put on our road and motorist were getting held up in the traffic because of the heavy snow falls and the slippy roads.
My favourite part of the book was near the end where she and her friend kissed (he boy friend, he was a boy not a girl!) I liked this bit because in the middle of all these terrible things there was this new beginning created.

  3. Carbon Dairies is fantastic book written in the form of a dairy. The UK have just introduced Carbon rationing. 16 year old Laura brown records the first year. And as her life spirals out of controll with Love,Pigs and floods. Will her life ever be normal again?

I thought that this book was so tragic, but at the same time it makes you wander if that’s what is going to happen to us in 5 years time(which is not very long). The language was easy to understand, but putting the swearing in it makes you visualise a different, but real world. I think that when you read the first couple of chapters it is very important for the author to describe the world they are trying to describe, so the reader will start to believe that this book is believable. Even though this book is about the future I think that the aurthor has managed to do it well and also the way the feelings are described is phenomenal because you can feel them with the character as you go along. When I was reading this book and at one moment I wasn’t sure that the characters were going to make it through. I must say that this book was very emotional and phenomenal o read.
