During the past five years, MBA has endevoured to complement its offer to its reading community and also to those not-so confident with books with a number of extra activities around the shortlisted titles. These range from drama and art workshops to creative writing activities and even, a radio programme. Have a look below to see what’s happening this year.
Forum Library – “Read, Walk, click, collage with artist Nicola Lynch” – Dec/Jan 2010. - Plese note this workshop has now finished.
- Join us in this walk around the Forum complex in Wythenshawe and look for images that could be used as backgrounds for the stories described in the MBA books. We will then print them, collage them, frame them and exhibit them with an explanation of your choices for everybody to see at Forum and also at the award ceremony.

MBA Creative Writing Workshop with author Zahid Hussain at Chorlton High – For reading group leaders only. Please note this workshop has now finished
Would you like to do some creative writing with your group? The MBA team has paired with the renowned author Zahid Hussain to create a generic pack with information and activities to be used by anyone interested in writing and the process of creating a book . He will be running a practical session with the YP attending the Creative Writing Afterschool club at Chorlton High and answering all your questions to get you started. The pack also includes information about the 6 shortlisted titles and suggested activities to do with your reading/ writing group.

MBA Book Talk at ALL FM radio – Feb 2010
This 2h programme will be recorded by six young people selected by the MBA team for the quality of their book reviews on the website . They will be championing a book each and also selecting soundtracks to accompany the stories. It will be aired in February 2010 as part of the youth slot at ALL FM. Please check the MBA News update for specific dates near the time.
