Candy by Kevin Brooks

It was the girl, of course. The girl from the station. The girl with the smile and the skin and the eyes. Joe is hooked from the moment he sees Candy.

What is it that catches his eye? Is it her hair, her smile, or just the way she’s standing? When they chat over coffee there’s an instant attraction, but can love really be this sweet?

Joe takes Candy deep into his soul. He thinks about her night and day, and even his music throbs to the sound of her name.

But Candy also takes him somewhere else – to her world: a bitter place of drugs, violence and hopelessness. As the dark truth emerges, Joe must decide if love and hope – and Candy – are worth fighting for.

This is my favourite book in the whole entire universe. It's so sweet, it's my saviour. This books words mean so much to me! Kevin Brooks is a very talented and special writer..

Genius! Absolutely GENIUS!

How could you like it .Ihated it.

This book is original, touching and realistic. I loved it! I thought it was really pacy, if a boring uneventful ending (obviously AFTER Candy kills Iggy). Fab, really.

Candy is a great book- it had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. It is fast paced and a really good read. The only thing I didn’t like about the book was the ending- although it was realistic, it was a real disapointment and made you think it was a little rushed if anything. Overall, a good book but not for those who don’t like being disappointed.

I THINK THIS BOOK IS GREAT IT KEPT ME FIXED ON IT. IT THINK IT'S GOT A BORING ENDING (SORT OF) AS WHEN CANDY KILLS IGGY, SHE KILLS HIM AND THAT'S THE END. IT NEEDS TO BE BETTER

It’s not often that Iwill swim far away from Jacqueline Wilson books, but Candy is the best book. It had me hanging off the edge of my seat. At times I was scared for them, even though they are just made up characters . Me and a couple of friends have read it, and all agree it is the best read that we have ever read.
